Herb Urban grew from a pure desire to make growing your own food easy and accessible for everyone.
At Herb Urban, we’re passionate about living and eating well. We nurture nature and celebrate the fruits of our labour. We’ll talk to anyone who listens about our fascination of growing food, reducing food miles, and cooking with organic, fresh produce.
We believe it’s time to take our food sources back to where it originated - our own backyards.
Our goal is to make sustainable living and food growing accessible to everyone, everywhere. Each step we individually take to reduce food wastage and plastic consumption gets us closer to reducing our impact on mother Earth.

Fern Street Headquarters
Founded in 2016 by a Newcastle local, Herb Urban has expanded across the Greater Hunter with systems installed across residential and commercial spaces.
In 2019 we moved into our Islington headquarters, a spacious warehouse that we’ve converted into a workshop & nursery. We use this space as a base for all of our operations, from building and testing our gardens to growing a wide range of fresh herbs and veggies.
From the street you can see our flagship product, the Herb Urban Custom garden - thriving with all sorts of edible and ornamental plants.

Our Future
Our goal is to disrupt our current agriculture system by making growing your own easy and accessible for everyone in Australia. Shifting our relationship with produce from demand and waste to nurture and recycle will dramatically reduce the impact we have on Earth.
